History and Legacy of Lalique Perfume and Bottles
When purchasing a bottle of Lalique perfume, you should be sure the perfume and the bottle are genuine. There are many accounts of people purchasing this type of perfume only to find that it is counterfeit or otherwise fake, either concerning the perfume itself or the bottle.
Many of the perfume bottles were made around the early 1900s. Some of the older ones are very
valuable, hence the many counterfeits found on the market today. Francois Coty, whom already had a major successful perfume business, commissioned a famous jewelry maker, Rene Lalique, to design perfume bottles. Later, Rene opened his own small factory to produce the bottles in Clairfontaine. Since then, Lalique has designed perfume bottles for many makers of scents and has become one of the most widely known names in the business.
In 1992, Lalique created a perfume of their own and was presented to the world as a collaboration work with Sophia Grojsman. The perfume itself notes a mixture of floral scents including Chinese gardenia, ylang-ylang, Bulgarian rose, Tunisian orange blossom, peony, magnolias and other fruity scents such as blackberries. The scent also uses hints of vanilla, sandalwood amber and more.
They all mix together to make a light, fresh floral scent however it is classified as an Oriental scent. Marie-Claude Lalique carries on the family name, of course, by creating the bottle in the traditional Lalique fashion. It consists of a rectangular body and a fan shaped cap with embellishments adorning it.
The namesake fragrance comes in different sizes and formulas including one for men and one for women. Some of these include a 3.4 ounce eau de parfum spray and a 3.4 ounce eau de toilette spray. The eau de parfum version is heavier so you need to use less to achieve the same scent strength as the eau de toilette.
There are some who say the fragrance does not last long enough; however, anything that lasts for more than four or five hours is certainly more than you can ask for from other perfume sprays. The usual length of time to reapply others is two to three hours, so this one outperforms the rest by a mile.
Other products include shower gels, mini splash type sprays, and apply with the finger parfums, all of which come in their namesake’s style of bottle. These versions have the same scents, except they do not last as long as the original. Other scents of note include Amethyst by Lalique for Women, Claire De Nilang Women, Eccre Noire, Lalique Tender Kiss, Perles de Lalique, Butterfly Women and many others.
When you are looking to purchase only the finest in parfums or a collectible bottle, no other would do as nicely as these. They have been around for over 100 years and continue to make many people as happy as they did on their first day. The timeless designs of the bottles are passed on from generation to generation in some cases and they also command a very high price at auction. You cannot get a better bottle than a Lalique perfume bottle.
