Ladies perfume has always been the object of interest of many women. In fact, it is one of the essential items that will never be absent in their carrying bags or purses. For the ladies, a perfume offers more than just a scent that allows them to smell good. Wearing one helps reveal their personality, set a mood, and enhance their presence. Having said that, there is no wonder why perfumes for women now come in a variety of scents and fragrances. Each of which is purposely made to match the varying preferences and personalities of women.

Looking Back

The use of perfume has already been practiced for centuries. Historians believe that ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians use fragrances and scented oils on a daily basis. And since the primeval times, they have been regarded as a luxurious commodity. Back in the old days, only the wealthy and the affluent can afford them. This is because their high-quality and exceptional scent made them very costly. Though perfumes have been consistently associated with women, the truth is, they have been worn by both genders throughout the history.

A woman named Tapputi was actually the first person who was noted for making perfumes. She is a Mesopotamian who lived more than 2,000 years ago. Back then, there were only very few sources or ingredients used in making scents and fragrances. That is why Tapputi wasn’t able to produce varying degrees of perfume concentration. But today, perfumes already come in a staggering number of diversification.

Franco Moschino (1950-1994) was an Italian fashion designer whose career started in 1971 when he worked as a fashion illustrator for Gianni Versace and then for Italian label Cadette, before eventually launching his very own Moschino Couture!
